Introducing Double Good Days
Double GoodSeptember 12, 2023 • Read 2 Min
When the Double Good Kids Foundation was established in 2017, founder Tim Heitmann and his wife, Natalie, had big plans for its future. Since then, the Foundation has been making strides in its mission to tilt the playing field for children with special needs so that they too can equitably participate in athletic, educational, and extracurricular activities and experiences. By expanding its reach and collaborating with like-minded organizations, the Foundation has been able to make a positive impact on children with physical, neurological, and social barriers.
This steady trajectory has led to an important milestone in the growth of the Double Good Kids Foundation, the advent of Double Good Days, an annual event where children of all abilities, along with their families and caregivers, can come together to experience joy with a purpose. On October 1st, 2023, Double Good Days will take its maiden voyage alongside the Kohl Children’s Museum in an unforgettable event filled with fun, educational and inspiring activities.
More than just a venue, the Kohl Children’s Museum is a key partner whose mission to create learning experiences that spark imagination and curiosity through the power of play complements the Foundation’s own mission perfectly. We’ve also brought onboard a carefully curated list of other amazing organizations that will help us make this a day guests won’t soon forget. From glass art to miniature therapy horses, adaptive sports, slime stations, and much more, there’s sure to be a fun and enriching activity for every child in attendance. But this is only the beginning of a new chapter for the Double Good Kids Foundation. As Tim Heitmann expressed, “We wanted the Foundation to serve this community and deliver joy in the form of a day of hands-on experiences designed specifically for them to enjoy.” Well, there’s a reason why “Days” is plural, with your support we expect there will be many more Double Good Days to come.
