AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a college readiness program that provides academic, organizational, and motivational support for students, often from underrepresented backgrounds. Exceeding Fundraising Expectations

South Hills High School’s AVID students and teachers raised an incredible $15,272.50 for a class field trip, surpassing their goal by more than 50%. With a roster of 351 students, the class opened 281 pop-up stores, an impressive 80% participation rate. Even more impressive, the team reached over 60% of their goal in less than 48 hours.

The field trip is to San Diego to visit four universities and allow students to stay overnight. These trips can cost thousands of dollars, but they’re transformative: Casie shared that students are deeply inspired by these visits, they’ve even run into previous students while on campus, creating a full circle moment. It’s an experience that opens their eyes to possibilities they hadn’t imagined.

Double Good Supercharged AVID’s Efforts

Because of the size of their fundraiser and their original $10,000 goal, South Hills qualified for Double Good’s White Glove Service. This dedicated support provides larger fundraising groups with strategic planning, tailored communications to sellers, personalized classroom leaderboards, and more.

White Glove Service is all about collaboration that maximizes funds raised. While Casie focused on motivating students and celebrating their progress, Double Good developed a strategy that helped the team not only reach but exceed their goals. As a result, AVID achieved a greater impact in less time than ever before — and the group couldn’t have been more grateful.

The AVID organizer shared their excitement, saying:
