While some students face challenges outside the classroom, dedicated teachers and coaches like Hillcrest High School’s Annie Dachota go above and beyond to ensure those obstacles don’t stand in the way of providing opportunities for extracurriculars.

“When we held tryouts for the softball team,” Annie recalls, “most of the girls had no mitts or bats. But having Double Good in our lineup helped us purchase the equipment we needed to feel and play like a team.”

Annie is a Learning Behavior Specialist and coach at Hillcrest High School, located in Country Club Hills, Illinois. She’s an inspirational force in helping students truly see what’s possible.

Annie had tried several other softball fundraising initiatives (coupon books, raffle tickets, candy and chips) which she found to be a lot of work with not much reward.

Annie learned about Double Good online fundraising from Coach Dave Lenti, Double Good’s Head of Partnerships for High School and Youth Sports.

“Coach Dave has provided outstanding support,” she states. “He came to our kickoff two years ago and gave us a lot of great advice on how to succeed, and he’s always there for us.”

The Double Good app helps Annie use her time effectively and makes selling fun for everyone on the softball team.

“With the app, the girls can sell on their own,” Annie says. “We keep half of everything we sell. And who doesn’t love really good popcorn?”

Softball coach's tips for successful Double Good fundraiser

During the first softball fundraiser Annie held, she hoped to be able to afford mitts and bats for the team.

“We did so well, we’ve been able to buy equipment, uniforms, hoodies and warmups,” Annie shares. “It really helps us feel like a team.

“All the girls have fun with it,” she adds, “and they know we wouldn’t be able to afford our gear if we didn’t do fundraising with Double Good.”
